Fairies are a race in Final Fantasy III. The Fairies inhabit an area they call the Living Woods under the Elder Tree. After the player battles Hein and restores Hein's Castle to its proper form as the Elder Tree, the Fairies will thank them and give Luneth the Fang of Wind as a gift.

The Elder Tree then goes into hibernation to recover from its ordeal at the hands of Hein, which effectively seals off the Living Woods and the Fairies who inhabit them for the rest of the game.
