The Faerie Rod, originally called Charm, is a high-ranked rod that provides 30 Attack in all versions, but -5 Accuracy in non-DS versions while 80 Accuracy in the DS version. It also provides +10 Intelligence (+7 in the DS version) and casts Confuse when used as an item. It can be obtained either by finding one in the Sylph Cave or bought for 5000 gil at the Feymarch.
Faerie Rod returns in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV. It is the strongest rod for Rydia and Palom and it can be bought in the Dwarven Shop on board the Falcon for 5,000 gil. It has an attack power of 30 and a accuracy of -5 with a bonus of +10 Intelligence. It can casts Confuse when used as an item during battle.
The Faerie Rod returns as the second strongest rod in the game, bested by the Stardust Rod. It provides 30 Attack, 5% Accuracy, +10 Intelligence, and casts Confuse when used as an item. It can be found in the clearing northwest of Fabul during the Crystals Tale.
The Fairy Tale is the third strongest weapon for Aeris, being bested by the Umbrella and Princess Guard. It provides 37 Attack, 103 Accuracy, +8 Magic, and has 7 single Materia slots with Normal growth. It could be bought for 2500 in Junon on Discs 2 and 3, or won from Reno at Gongaga.
