The Extractor is a boss from Final Fantasy X, fought by Tidus and Wakka under the water of the Moonflow. It is another of the Al Bhed machina weapons and is the second attempt to abduct Yuna and halt her pilgrimage. It should be noted that Rikku, prior to her becoming Yuna's Guardian, pilots this device and attacks the player's party.

[edit] Strategy

Equipping Lightningstrike weapons will be helpful, due to the Extractor being a machina. Extractor will use Aqua Shooter for the first part of the battle but after a few rounds will rise a few feet and prepare to release its Depth Charges. These will cause massive damage and inflict Darkness. If Tidus and Wakka can cause over 500 HP of damage to the machine, it will cancel the attack and come back down. Using Provoke will also cancel the charges, but will raise the Extractor's Strength for the next two rounds.

Making good use of Wakka's Overdrive to deliver a Lightning attack and using Cheer, Haste, and Slow will ensure a not-too-difficult battle.
