The event healing or damage ignores character's status bug is a bug in Final Fantasy VI which involves any type of healing or damage done via event code that completely ignores any status the character may have, namely KO, Petrify, and Zombie.

A petrified character can still be hurt by the spikes found within the Phoenix Cave, and the Cure casting kid in Vector on the player's first visit can restore the HP of KO'ed and zombied party members. However, these specialized events don't affect the statuses of the characters at all, so they can have a dead character who has more than 0 HP. This is all because the event code that does the healing or damage has no way of checking the status of characters to make sure that what it is doing isn't nearly pointless.
