The Event Theater, also known as Theater, Theater Mode, or Event Viewer, is a recurring menu feature in the Final Fantasy series that allows players to rewatch cutscenes. Some theaters only offer full motion video cutscenes, while others, mostly in portable games, offer all available cutscenes.
Tracks and full-motion video cutscenes from the game can be bought and listened to in the Sphere Theater in Luca.
The Annals of Orience from the Rubicus contains all historical events pertaining to Orience, including text entries and cutscenes. Some cutscenes are bonus movies exclusive to the Rubicus and are not played during the regular game.
The Event Viewer in D's Journal contains all cutscenes, Party Chats, and full-motion videos. Scenes are divided into the main scenario and sub-scenarios and sorted by chapter, with an option to view all continuously.
The Theater in Dissidia contains cutscenes found within the game, and is accessible from the Museum.
Unlike its Dissidia counterpart, the Theater in Dissidia 012 features the cutscenes in a timeline fashion. The Theater has a Continuous Playback option, which plays every cutscene in chronological order, with the exception of the thirteenth cycle narrations and duplicate Chaos warrior death scenes in the thirteenth cycle Epilogue. The total duration of Continuous Playback is just over six and a half hours.
The theater contains the thirteen movies that play in the background on EMS scores. More movies are unlocked by accumulating Rhythmia.
As of Patch 1.02, Theater Mode is available from the title screen and contains all of the game's cutscenes.
