Energy Rain is an Overdrive, a part of the Swordplay skillset of Tidus. Tidus runs forward and jumps off one enemy into the air, then charges his weapon with energy and swings it to fire energy blasts at all enemies. Underwater, Tidus just unleashes the beams of energy. Tidus learns this Overdrive after executing 30 Overdrives (cumulative amount of times).
Energy Rain appears as Tidus's HP attack and have two variations: ground and aerial. The aerial version is available at default and costs 40 CP to equip. Mastering the ability for 180 AP reduces the equip cost to 20 CP. It is a melee high, physical attack and the attack animation include Tidus delivering a diving kick, then jumping away and sending a barrage of energy orbs at opponent that explode. Its unchanged ground version is automatically obtained when Tidus achieves level 38.
Energy Rain reappears as Tidus's HP attack retaining its both variations. Aerial version is still available from the beginning, but now it costs 30 CP to equip. Its mastery cost have been reduced to 130 AP and consequently the mastered ability CP cost is 15. It is still a melee high attack, but aside of having physical damage type, it is also classified as magic damage type and the attack animation include Tidus delivering a diving kick, then jumping away and sending a barrage of energy orbs at opponent that explode. The ground version of Energy Rain is learned once Tidus reaches level 19.
Tidus appears as a Legend using Energy Rain as his ability.
