Elegy is an ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is often usable by Bards as part of their Sing skillset, and lowers the damage enemies deal to the party.

Final Fantasy IIIEdit

III Elegy is an ability of the Sing command, accessible by the Bard while equipped with the Apollo Harp in the game's 3D remake releases. It increases magic defense to all party members, with the effectiveness rising with higher job levels. It stacks with Shell.

Sing formula:

Recipient's Magic Defense + (20 + Recipient's JobLv / 11)%

Final Fantasy XIEdit

XI There are three types of Elegy. Battlefield Elegy lowers the target's attack speed by 25%, and the stronger Carnage Elegy reduces attack speed by 50%. Both songs are learned by the Bard, and their slow effect stacks with Slow status. The third and most powerful Elegy, Massacre Elegy, is exclusive to certain Notorious Monsters, and reduces attack speed by 100%.

Theatrhythm Final FantasyEdit

TFF Elegy comes in three levels of power, the first reducing the damage the party takes over the course of the stage by 10%, and higher level versions offering an additional 5% of protection over the previous level. Princess Sarah, Aerith, Prishe, Ashe, Snow, and Cosmos learn all three levels of Elegy.
