Ecliptic Attrition is a Geomancer job ability in Final Fantasy XI. When used, it enhances the potency of a Geomancer's luopan by 25%, but it also increases the rate at which the luopan consumes its HP. Ecliptic Attrition is learned at level 25 and has a recast time of 5 minutes. This recast timer is shared with the Lasting Emanation job ability. By placing merits into the "Ecliptic Attrition Recast" merit category, it is possible to reduce the recast time of Ecliptic Attrition by 10 seconds per merit level, potentially allowing for a recast time of 4 minutes and 10 seconds.
