Dyne is a storyline boss in Final Fantasy VII.

BattleEdit

Dyne fights Barret one-on-one, but only has physical attacks. Thus, the battle is similar to Cloud's fight with Rufus, in that as long as he has a Restore Materia, Barret cannot lose. Dyne's attacks are powerful, but Cure2 can easily heal Barret faster than Dyne can defeat him. Dyne is vulnerable to Bio, so players may wish to cast it on him to help them. Another strategy for an easy kill is to throw a Right Arm, and because Dyne has such low HP, it takes just one to kill him. Because Barret uses mainly ranged weapons, he is best placed in the back row.

Dyne will use S-Mine normally if his HP is between 75% and 50% of his Max HP. Also, he will use the previous attack after Needle Gun in the same turn if his HP is between 50% and 25% of his Max HP. Finally, Dyne will use Molotov Cocktail after Needle Gun in the same turn if his HP is below 25% of his Max HP. Once Dyne is defeated have 50% chance it will cast Molotov Cocktail as a final attack.
