Battle[]

Dryads spend most of their time summoning reinforcements. Once they have summoned enough allies, they will bombard Lightning with Aero magic, which keeps her at a distance, unable to retaliate. This can pose a risk if there are many new Dryads in the fray. If some Dryads perish, the remaining enemies will continually attempt to summon or cast Aero on themselves to heal their allies.

Strategy[]

The best strategy is to have Lightning use strong Fira or Firaga while the Dryads are summoning, as they will usually migrate closer together when calling allies leaving themselves open to area-effect attacks. If Lightning runs out of ATB for magic, she can switch to a physical garb with Heat Blitz or other area-effect attacks to finish the enemies.

Etymology[]

A dryad is a tree nymph, that is a female spirit of a tree, in Greek mythology. In Greek drys signifies "oak". Thus, dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.
