FFD Fire Breath

Fire Breath from Final Fantasy Dimensions is a Dragon Arts ability.

Dragon (竜技, Ryūgi?), also called Dragon Tech, Dragon Soul, and Dragon Arts, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series associated with the Dragoon job. Among the abilities that compose it are elemental dragon breath abilities and the trademark Dragoon abilities Jump and Lancet.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy IX[]

Dragon is Freya's skillset. Although they consume MP, her Dragon skills are not considered magic damage, and thus can be used when magic use is blocked, such as when the party enters the anti-magic field within Oeilvert on the Forgotten Continent.

Final Fantasy Tactics[]

Dragon is the action ability of the Dragonkin job exclusive to Reis. The abilities involve elemental breath attacks that hit all enemies in front of Reis in a range, an ability to tame enemy dragons, and a range of support abilities. These abilities execute immediately with no Charge Time.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[]

Dragon Tech is the action ability of the bangaa Dragoon job. Dragon Tech abilities fall under the category of techniques and are learned through swords and spears. The abilities include elemental breath attacks, offensive abilities against enemy dragons, and the traditional Dragoon abilities like Jump and Lancet.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]

The Dragoon returns as a job for the bangaa in Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and its skillset, now known as Dragon Soul, returns unchanged. Dragon Soul abilities are still learned through swords and spears.

Final Fantasy Dimensions[]

Dragon Tech is a skillset available to the Dragoon job, available to the Warriors of Light. The techniques include elemental breath attacks and support skills.

Final Fantasy Trading Card Game[]

One of Freya's cards can use Cherry Blossom, and another can use Dragon Crest. For two Lightning CP, the discard of a Freya card and Dulling Freya, Cherry Blossom deals 2000 damage to the opponent for each card the player controls with Dragoon as their name or job. Dragon Crest requires the discard of a Freya card and a Lightning CP, allows the player to choose a Forward and deal it 3000 damage for each Dragoon in their Break zone.

Etymology[]

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, which is featured in the myths of many cultures.
