Dia II is an Enfeebling Magic spell in Final Fantasy XI. Associated with White Magic, it can be used by Red Mages from level 31 and White Mages from level 36. An upgrade of the spell Dia, it lowers an enemy's Defense and also deals gradual Light-elemental damage. Uses 30 MP to cast, it takes 1.5 seconds to cast, and 6 for subsequent casting.
Dia II appeared as an ability at the initial release of the original Final Fantasy XIV. It was a Thaumaturge spell available for use at Rank 36, costed 3 action points to set, and had an MP cost of 30. The ability dealt astral-elemental damage over time and reduced the defense of enemies within an area of effect. After the release of patch 1.20, Dia II; along with Dia, became unusable by any class in the game.
As of the current moment, Dia II has not appeared as an ability in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
"Dia" and "Día" mean "day" in Portuguese and Spanish.
In ancient Greek religion and folklore, Dia means "heavenly," "divine," or "she who belongs to Zeus." The name is actually attributed to several figures thus is treated like an honorific or title.
