Delay Attacks (ディレイバスター, Direi Basutā^?) are attacks that delay the target's next turn.

Final Fantasy XEdit

Delay Attack and Delay Buster are a set of skills affecting the specific number of turns within the Act List. Both skills appear within Tidus's section of the Sphere Grid. Delay Attack moves the opponent's next turn down the Act List moderately and costs 8 MP to use. Delay Buster, when successful, moves the next opponent's next turns down the Act List greatly and costs 18 MP to use.

Valefor's special attack, Sonic Wings, also causes Delay. If the player has Valefor's Agility stat high enough, and is facing a particularly slow enemy, the player can cast it repeatedly without the opponent ever getting a turn.

Final Fantasy X-2Edit

Delay Attack and Delay Buster both appear as an abilities for the Warrior dressphere. Delay Attack reduces the opponent's ATB gauge moderately, costing 100 AP to learn and 10 MP to use. Delay Buster completely resets the opponents ATB gauge, costing 120 AP to learn and 16 MP to use.
