Defaithga is an ailment ability for Lightning in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. It is the upgraded form of the Defaith spell, dealing non-elemental magic damage to all targets and inflicting the status of the same name that decreases their Magic by 67%

Defaithga is also an ability drop from the Earth Eater enemies, having a 22.5% drop rate. The enemies drop different levels of the ability on the following days and difficulties:

Mechanics[]
When used, Lightning conjures wisps of dark energy around the enemy party, dealing magic non-elemental damage and inflicting the Defaith status for a set amount of time, with its duration often half of the single target version. The ability has an ATB cost of 40 at level 1, with the lowest ATB cost at level 5 decreasing to 20.
Like its single target predecessor, Defaithga has a set potency of 0.20 at all levels. It does not naturally have access to potency increases through synthesis passives, but its potency can also be further increased by equipping rapier weapons and the Skeleton's Earrings accessories. Like other ailment abilities, Defaithga has no stagger power, meaning it cannot increase or stabilize an enemy's stagger wave.
