Dark Shiva is an optional boss in the International and PAL versions of Final Fantasy X. She guards the entrance to Macalania Temple when the party returns there after obtaining the airship. Following the battle, Tidus is followed and ambushed by Guado Guardians, exactly like when Seymour was first fought.

StrategyEdit

Shiva has extremely high Agility and all her attacks, except Diamond Dust, function as super-fast Quick Hits, so Auto Haste and Quick Hits are useful. Auto-Phoenix also works well, because Shiva's Heavenly Strike causes Instant Death, as well as Berserk and Power Break.

Because of her low HP, the Dark Shiva can be defeated quickly, before she manages to use her Overdrive; a good method is to use Wakka's Attack Reels while equipped with a fully upgraded World Champion. As in the other Dark Aeon battles, high Agility, Accuracy, Strength, and Defense are necessary. Dark Shiva doesn't counter-attack, but all her attacks ignore the effects of Auto-Life; therefore it is recommended to have two people with Auto-Phoenix.

As any other enemy, she can be killed instantly by Yojimbo's Zanmato attack.
