Template:VS Enemies

Crabs with shells as hard as Damascus. Weapons made from their shells are rare and valued.

In-game description

Damascus Crab is an enemy in Vagrant Story. It can only be fought on second playthrough as the Rood Inverse is needed. It drops the Platinum Key which is needed to go through The Iron Maiden B2.

Battle

The Damascus Crab can be easily defeated by casting Spark Fusion and attacking its body with a Blunt weapon or its mouth with a Piercing weapon. Edged wepons are not recommended. The Crab also has a Water Affinity attack Tidal Rush. To defend against this use gems such as Undine Jaspers and Marid Aquamarines equipped onto your shield to lessen the effect of this ability.

Etymology

Damascus steel was a term used by several Western cultures from the Medieval period onward to describe a type of steel used in swordmaking from about 300 BC to 1700 AD. These swords are characterized by distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water. Such blades were reputed to be not only tough and resistant to shattering, but capable of being honed to a sharp and resilient edge.
