A samurai sworn to defend Doma, an eastern land whose royal castle was decimated by Kefka's treachery. Cyan joined the Returners to avenge the death of his liege and his beloved wife and child.
Cyan appears as a recruitable character. He joins the party after clearing the Phantom Train for the first time. He was also the Tier 2 recruit in the Touched by Magic Challenge Event, and could also be recruited by accepting and completing the Bonus Quest "Complete Imperial Camp Classic (VI)". He later appeared in Two Sides of a Coin.
Cyan is a Samurai. His combat role is Physical Attack.
Cyan, like Cloud recruited before him, is an excellent addition to the party, especially for early players whose physical capabilities and speed may be lacking by the time he is recruited. Unfortunately for him as well as several other units requiring specific weapons, he can easily fall victim to the game's randomness at drawing new equipment and may not get the katana he needs to perform at his best. Still, he combines physical power and speed in ways none other than a Dragoon can match or exceed. Auron, Cyan's spiritual successor, is more powerful, but much slower.
|Rank*First break only. Min 1, max 5||4||4||3||1||1||2||3||3||3|
His default Soul Break is Bushido Fang, a physical attack against a single target.
- Additional information
Cyan was the first character to receive a second copy of his Memory Crystal I. These copies are appropriately located on the Phantom Train under Elite difficulty, and on Mt. Zozo's Summit in the World of Ruin during Touched by Magic. These locations reference his places of deepest pain in the original game.
Cyan appears on a Triple Triad card.
