Convert (コンバート, Konbāto?), also known as Manalchemy, is a recurring ability in the series. It generally allows the user to switch their current HP and MP totals.

In battle, this ability does create a moderate amount of enmity, so a Red Mage could gain unwanted attention with little to no HP to survive a hit with, but more commonly they are killed by an area of effect attack that hits the whole party.

Convert is an ability that recovers the caster's MP by 9999, but reduces their HP to 1. It costs 10 MP to cast, and is learned by Ludmille and Ingus, both at Level 72 (5★).
