It uses Electric Discharge as a final attack but is more known for petrifying attack, which makes it one of the few one-hit KO mobs for a solo character. Cockatrice is vulnerable to Petrify itself, which the party can exploit by drawing and casting Break.
Cockatrice drops Dynamo Stones that raise compatibility with Quetzalcoatl, and Coral Fragments, which teaches Quistis Electrocute, a Blue Magic spell.

Etymology
The Cockatrice is a creature from mythology. It is similar to the basilisk in appearance and ability, but also possesses flight. A cockatrice is born from an egg hatched by a rooster and incubated by a toad, and its gaze causes instant petrification.
