Negates poison... and brings out one's inner chocobo.

Final Fantasy VI description

Chocobo Suit (チョコボスーツ, Chokobo Sūtsu?) is a recurring armor in the Final Fantasy series. It is an unique armor that provides great stat boosts and usually grants immunity to Poison. In the MMORPG entries in the series, however, it is a low level costume piece that comes with a matching headgear, the Chocobo Masque or Chocobo Mask (チョコボマスク, Chokobo Masuku?).

Appearances[]

Description

Chocobo Suit is a unique armor found only in the Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable versions, and is exclusive to Palom. It provides 28 Defense, 30 Magic Defense, 25 Evasion, 15 Magic Evasion, +15 Agility, and nullifies Poison. It can be bought for 550,000 gil and found at the Lunar Ruins, or dropped from Strato Avis.

The Chocobo Suit is not compatible with the Merit Award. It can be found at Esper Caves, stolen from Caladrius, or won from the Dragon's Neck Coliseum by betting the Tabby Suit.

FFVIIEC Gear Aerith ChocoboSuit

The Chocobo Suit appears as a gear for Aerith. It could be obtained as an event reward during "Pumpkin Fest: Where Darkness Gathers". Equipping gives the reinforcement ability Boost HP and Boost MDEF.

Final Fantasy XI[]

The Chocobo Suit here comes with a matching Chocobo Masque; both are level 1 pieces of equipment with Defense 1 that come from various Repeat Login Campaigns. Both can be upgraded via Synergy to a +1 version with Defense 2 and an additional effect when used; the suit adds a Costume effect that turns the wearer into an adult chocobo, while the masque teleports the wearer to the Chocogirl located at the telepoint nearest to their home nation. Both effects are usable once per 20 real-life hours.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

The Chocobo Suit is Body Body armor that can be equipped by all classes. It prevents the use of Hand Hand armor, though while its appearance suggests otherwise, it does not restrict the use of Leg Leg armor. It can be obtained from Jonathas in Old Gridania as a reward for the achievement Bosom Buddies III.

Etymology[]

The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall (チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".

食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
