The Chimera is an enemy from Final Fantasy IV. They are rather difficult as they absorb all three main primary elements and are rather powerful at the time the party faces them. It is best to quickly take them out before they can use their Blaze attack, which deals massive Ice-elemental damage to the party, if they are left alone long enough. They are not immune to Petrify, so using Medusa Arrows will help here, as well as the Medusa Sword if available. Using Jump, casting Quake and summoning Titan all can defeat a Chimera.

Etymology
The chimera is a fire-breathing monster, one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is commonly represented with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail in Greek mythology. In modern usage, the term chimera is often taken to mean any sort of hybrid between two or more species.
