Chain Plate (チェインプレイト, Chein Pureito?), also known as Ringmail, is a recurring armor piece in the Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy IX[]

The Chain Plate is a low-ranked clothes, providing +10 Defense, +1 Strength level up bonus, and making the wearer weak to Lightning-elemental attacks. It teaches the ability Devil Killer, and can be equipped by Zidane and Amarant. It can be purchased for 810 gil in Treno (when Garnet and Steiner visit with Marcus), Cleyra, Lindblum (second storyline visit), Dragon's Gate Merchant, Fossil Roo, and Black Mage Village (before entering Shimmering Island), found in Gargan Roo, and stolen from Beatrix in Burmecia.

Final Fantasy XII[]

The Ringmail is a low to mid-ranked light body armor that provides +50 HP, 10 Defense, and 1 Strength. In the original PlayStation 2 version, it requires the Light Armor 3 license to use, and can be bought for 700 gil at Rabanastre and Bhujerba. It

In the Zodiac versions, it requires the Light Armor 3 license for 20 LP. It can be bought in Rabanastre, Bhujerba, and Dreadnought Leviathan for 700 gil, and is found as a treasure in the Dreadnought Leviathan (Large Freight Stores). It can be equipped by the Machinist, Monk, Archer, and Shikari.

Ringmail is a low-ranked clothes that provides +24 HP. It can be bought in Chapter 1 for 900 gil after completing Lenalian Plateau.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[]

Description

Chain Plate is a low-ranked armor that provides +28 Defense and +4 Resistance. It teaches the Catch ability to the Red Mage and Juggler classes, and can be bought for 900 gil from the shop, or received as a reward for "Mixed" Treasure Hunts.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]

Chainmail is a low-ranked light armor that teaches the ability Counter to White Monks and Thieves. It provides +28 Defense and +4 Resistance, and can be bought for 220 gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Clock Gear, Tanned Hide, and Ladies' Tresses.
