The Celestial Realm is a location in Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer, serving as the final dungeon in the latter.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Not much is known about the Celestial Realm save that it is a realm where no war or strife occurs and that it was more advanced than Luxendarc. A calamity that befell the Celestial Realm ages ago forced most of its residents to flee to Luxendarc during its age of myths. Only Vega remained in the empty world, her soul later taken by the false god Providence as he took over the realm and later created Ba'als from her memories with the intent to send the destructive monsters to Luxendarc.

During the events of Bravely Default, apparently unaware of what became of it, Ouroboros intends to invade the Celestial Realm through the power of all the worlds Airy links to transform it into a haven for chaos. Though Ouroboros nearly reaches his goal, he is destroyed by Tiz Arrior and his group before he can breach the Celestial Realm.

A few years later, during Bravely Second: End Layer, Tiz and his group learn of the Celestial Realm's current condition and venture into it to save Vega at the behest of Altair while ending Providence's evil for good.

Spoilers end here.

Celestial realm is a common religious, cosmological, or transcendent place where heavenly beings, such as gods, angels, jinns, saints, or venerated ancestors, originate, are enthroned, or live. Different cultures have different names for these places.

  • It is strongly implied the "Celestial Realm" is modeled after the real world, as seen by Altair's knowledge of contemporary items that confuse the others.
    • In Bravely Default, the "gods" Ouroboros refers to are the human players playing Bravely Default. When the portal opens, the camera on the Nintendo 3DS activates and projects its image into the background in the portal Ouroboros draws attention to, likely causing the player's face to appear in the portal looking down on the battle. Furthermore, Anne speaks to the player directly in the FMVs.
    • In Bravely Second, the player is described as a being reaching to the world of Luxendarc through the 3DS to control Tiz's group and guide them on their adventure. Providence breaks the fourth wall by calling himself a god while nearly forcing the player to erase themself (delete memory) upon taking control of them.
