Castle Argus (アーガス王国, Āgasu Ōkoku?, lit. "Argus kingdom"), also known as Argass Castle in the NES version), is a location in Final Fantasy III found across the sea from Vikings' Cove and Nepto Temple. The party can enter it after completing plot events in those locations, but it will be empty until freeing the residents from Castle Hein. Equipment for Scholars can be found in treasure chests here. For saving him from Hein's evil clutches, King Argus gives the party the Wheel of Time, which Cid can use to make the Enterprise into an airship.

StoryEdit

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

As the Light Warriors arise, the Sorcerer Hein, adviser to King Argus, captures the King, enslaves and brainwashes his army, and uproots the Elder Tree from the Living Woods, transforming it into his castle and enchanting it, so that it may float above the desert around Tokkul.

When the Warriors of Light defeat Hein at his fortress, the people of Argus return to their home, and at the castle, King Argus rewards the Warriors of Light with the Wheel of Time, allowing them to modify the Enterprise into an airship.
