Carrot FFXII

Bestiary entry from Final Fantasy XII.

Carrot (キャロット, Kyarotto?), also known as Morbolger, is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. Either a mark or a regular mission, Carrot is always an out of control pet who needs to be put down. In all instances Carrot is a stronger, and often larger, Malboro.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy XII[]

XII carrot render

Carrot is a pet Malboro of Mme. Zammadria, and is an Elite Mark. When Mme. Zammadria brought Carrot to Nalbina when visiting her husband, Carrot ran away to the Salikawood. Fearing a scandal for rearing such a pet, Mme. Zammadria contacted Montblanc and hired Clan Centurio to vanquish the creature. The report is Rank VII Elite Mark "Carrot Stalk".

By defeating Carrot, the player is awarded with the title "Freshmaker". A sprite of Carrot will appear in the Sky Pirate's Den using its bad breath attack.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

The Morbolger (キャロットちゃん, Kyarotto Chan?) is an enemy encountered during Passing the Smell Test Passing the Smell Test. While larger and stronger than the average morbol, it is not a major threat. The English name is from an enemy in Final Fantasy XI, but its Japanese name is "Carrot-chan". The quest also mentions the Morbolger being rumored to be an escaped pet, referencing Carrot's background in other entries.

Final Fantasy XVI[]

Carrot notorious mark from FFXVI

Carrot is a B rank notorious mark whose hunt can be accepted after finding a part for Midadol Telamon inside the Hideaway's orchestrion during "Like Father, Like Daughter". The mark is found in Rosaria's Whispering Waters area. Felling it earns 10,000 gil, 20 renown points, and a Morbol Tendril and a Morbol Flower. The tendril can be used to rejuvenate the garden inside the Hideaway as part of the sidequest "Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol"; completing the quest makes Clive's potions stronger.

Final Fantasy Tactics[]

Carrot, a five-month-old malboro kept as a pet by Countess Zalmasse, had gone missing. After an extended search, we found Carrot feeding in the hills behind Zalmasse Manor and recaptured her. Consulting with a specialist, we learned that domesticated malboros regress to their wild state every fourth generation, and determined this was the cause of little Carrot's escape.

"Call of the Wild" Report, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
