The Captain is an enemy from Final Fantasy II. An advanced minion of Palamecia, Captains prowl the streets of Fynn and decks of the Dreadnought in NPC form. You can talk to them to initiate a battle, but doing this in the early stages of the game is not encouraged due to the Captains' high rank. If you do manage to defeat a Captain while at lower levels, you may obtain the Flame Bow or Golden Armor, two pieces of equipment that are quite advanced and helpful for several of the game's first dungeons.

Captains can use the Bow 3 attack to strike while out of range of the party's physical attacks.
