Cancer (, キャンサー^?, lit. "Kyansā"), the Crab, is a sign of the Zodiac and a recurring symbol in the Final Fantasy series, particularly in games that feature the world of Ivalice and by extension those in the Ivalice Alliance.

Cancer is one the Stellazzio coins collected by Queen Stella. It can be found in the abandoned market street of Burmecia, in a ruined cart to the left. It is part of the Stellazzio story and reads: "Cancer headed to the cape where Virgo waited. The sun was setting into the ocean. Would he finally see her?"

Final Fantasy XIEdit

The Cancer Subligar is one of the thirteen Zodiac subligaria, which can obtained from a Fomor Samurai in specific level-capped dungeons around Tavnazia. It is used to obtain the "Shinimusha Hara-Ate," an armor worn by Samurai.

Additionally, there exists a Notorious Monster named "Cancer," a crab that lives in Kuftal Tunnel.

Final Fantasy XIIEdit

The Esper Zeromus, aligned with the element of Gravity, embodies the sign of Cancer. In the International Version, the Cancer emblem is represented by the Red Mage job. Cancer Gems are dropped by Insect-type enemies: a reference to Zeromus.

Final Fantasy TacticsEdit

Cancer is one of the twelve Zodiac Stones. Defeating Construct 7 nets the party the Cancer Stone, which can then be used by Beowulf Cadmus to restore his love Reis Duelar to her human form.

Cancer is also a Zodiac sign used to determine damage compatibility between characters during battle. Cancer has optimal compatibility with Capricorn, good compatibility with Scorpio and Pisces, and bad compatibility with Libra and Aries.
