These woods are so peaceful. Why don't you rest here...FOR ALL ETERNITY!

Calofisteri

Calofisteri, also known as WoodSprite, is a boss and one of the Demons of the Rift in Final Fantasy V that watches over the forest part of the final dungeon. She appears when the player presses the "switch" on one of the trees.

In the Finest Fantasy for Advance and the now discontinued 2013 Matrix Software versions, Calofisteri is also fought in the Sealed Temple's Cloister of the Dead.

Battle[]

FFV calofisteri appears

Calofisteri appears.

If no one in the battle has reflect active, Calofisteri will cast Old or Stop against one party member, or cast Reflect on herself.

If Calofisteri has reflect active on herself, she will bounce Bio, Poison, Old, Stop, or Reflect off herself onto the party.

If any party member has reflect active, she will prioritize bouncing casts of Haste, Protect, Regen, Shell, Cura, or Esuna off the party member onto herself.

Whenever she is targeted by the Attack command, Calofisteri will counter with Drain. She is susceptible to Level 2 Old.

Strategy[]

If a party member enters the battle with a Reflect Ring equipped, Calofisteri will be permanently stuck to using her buffing spells, stopping her from using her attack, debuff, and Reflect magic. Only her Drain counterattack will remain a threat.

The best way to stop all of Calofisteri's spellcasting is to charge Silence Spellblade and attack, inflicting silence and stopping her counterattack as well.

If a player does not silence her, they can work around the Drain counter reaction by using magic attacks. The safest way to do so would be to reflect the attack off party members with reflect active. This avoids the chance of accidentally reflecting an offensive spell back at the party.

The party can also use spells that cannot be reflected, such as Comet, Aqua Breath, Goblin Punch, and Summon magic.

Zeninage, Jump, Mineuchi, Mug, Aim, and Rapid Fire are some other methods of attacking that will not trigger the Drain reaction.

Calofisteri is also vulnerable to slow, poison and old, and the afflicting spells can be cast against her when her reflect is down, or reflected off of party members.

The party can also boost a member's level through Samson's Might and/or Dragon Power to increase that member's damage against her.
