Template:Sideicon Template:FFXIII-2 Enemies The Bunkerbeast is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2 encountered in Yaschas Massif 100 AF.

Battle

The Bunkerbeast has high damage resistance until it is staggered. It has a high chain resistance, but its stagger point is low. As such, the party should obtain a preemptive strike to bring its chain gauge up to 120% immediately, drastically reducing the effort necessary to defeat it.

From there, the player should begin with Cerberus or Relentless Assault to stabilize the chain gauge, then switch to Tri-disaster to stagger the Bunkerbeast as soon as possible. Once it is staggered, the party should switch to Cerberus in order to deal as much damage as possible.

Paradigm Pack

As an ally, the Bunkerbeast has one of the highest HP growths of all monsters, its HP eventually rising above 10,000 when fully maxed out with Potent or Vitality materials. It also has Improved Ward. These attributes, and early and extended favorable coverage in game press, made it the most popular Sentinel in the game. Its passive resistance against Deprotect and Deshell makes it one of the best in the game against monsters that debuff with Deprotect or Deshell.

Bunkerbeast does not naturally come with the Mediguard ability, so it is recommended the player infuse a Level 20 Pulsework Knight into the Bunkerbeast. It is expensive to raise, requiring more materials than most other monsters that can achieve level 70. Its popularity does not extend to seasoned players, who prefer the defense against damage that Sentinels such as Navidon and to a lesser extent, Pulsework Gladiator are equipped with already. Both of these begin their leveling with materials of a higher grade than Bunkerbeast, though, and go to the same maximum level, so players may find Bunkerbeast both adequate and comparatively cheap.
