MQ Brownie Field

Brownie is an enemy from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Brownies are small elf-like creatures that wear brown caps. They first appear in the Level Forest.

BattleEdit

The creatures have two phases. The first phase has them wearing a cap and adopting a fighting pose, while the second phase has the cap removed, exposing a Mohawk as well as having a cross bandage on the forehead.

Etymology Edit

A brownie is a legendary creature popular in folklore around Scotland and England. A brownie resembles the hob, similar to a hobgoblin. Brownies are said to inhabit houses and aid in tasks around the house.

The creature is named Goblin in the Japanese version. A goblin is a small, mischievous creature found in many European folk tales and legends. The word "goblin" comes from the Norman French word Gobelinus, the name of a ghost that haunted the town of Évreux in the 12th century.

It is also named "Gift Zwerg," meaning "Posion Dwarf," in the German release.
