The Bluesang is a Trophy Rare Game enemy in Final Fantasy XII. If the player is trying to get the Tournesol, the Bluesang is one of the earlier and easier sources of one required Bazaar ingredient, Gemsteel.
The player can acquire the Damascus Steel by stealing the item once, exiting two areas and repeating the process, until six Damascus Steel are obtained. Being a Trophy Rare Game, the Bluesang does not reappear after being killed: the player can only use the strategy mentioned if they do not kill the monster. If Bluesang is killed, the player will have to acquire the Damascus Steel by other means. The Damascus Steel was made harder to steal from it in the Zodiac versions.
Bestiary entry Edit
Dullahan so cold and so wicked, it is said that its very blood runs blue. Hunted on the Cerobi Steppe.
To find the Bluesang the player must have spoken to the "Huntmaster" in Phon Coast and defeated Thalassinon, which will trigger the start of the Rare Game quest. Bluesang then has a 40% chance of appearing in Cerobi Steppe's Crossfield area, between the windmills.
Bluesang translates to "blue blood".
- Bluesang, along with Anchag, make up a pair of only Rare Game that derive from the same kind of enemy, namely a Dullahan. Daedalus also bears a similar appearance to a Dullahan. Additionally, both Rare Game and Daedalus can be robbed of the Damascus Steel to make the Gemsteel for the Tournesol.
