Blue Materia is an enemy in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- that appears in a group with other Materia.

Its high Vitality and Spirit make it resilient. The Materia in the Cage of Binding have a seemingly guaranteed drop of a Phoenix Down if the player does not have a Phoenix Down in their inventory already. This makes them an unlimited source of Phoenix Downs, the other being the superboss, Minerva.
Strategy[]
The player should use command materia or Thunder-elemental attacks. Thundaga Blade is the most effective Lightning-based attack available.
Etymology[]
Materia means "matter" or "substance" in Latin, Spanish, and Italian; it also means "subject" in Italian and Spanish, and is the root of Portuguese "Matéria".
