Final Fantasy IV description

The Blue Fang (あおいきば, Aoi Kiba?), also called Lit-Bolt and LitStorm, is a recurring item in the Final Fantasy series. It typically does either Lightning or Ice damage to enemies.

Description

The Blue Fang deals Lightning-elemental damage to enemies. It is exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary versions. The Blue Fang is generally found in the optional dungeons exclusive to these versions, and can also sometimes be dropped rarely from enemies.

Final Fantasy IV[]

The Blue Fang (Lit-Bolt on the SNES and LitStorm on the PlayStation) deals Lightning-elemental damage to enemies, and the damage is equal to half the maximum HP of the user. It can be bought in Baron for 5500 gil (3D version) and found in Sylph Cave and Lunar Ruins. It can be dropped by Storm Anima (2D and 3D), Lesser Marilith (2D and 3D), Green Dragon (2D and 3D), Yellow Dragon (2D and 3D), Clockwork Soldier (2D and 3D), Gold Dragon (2D and 3D), Chimera Geist (2D only), Fiend Dragon (2D only), and stolen from Yellow Dragon (3D only) and Green Dragon (3D only). In the 3D version, it is a reward for completing the Tower of Zot 3F map, Sealed Cave B3 North map, and Sealed Cavern B3 South map.

Cecil uses a Blue Fang in the opening sequence to kill a Zu. In the 3D versions, this is omitted. In the North American and Easy Type SNES releases, the item could not be obtained.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]

The Blue Fang deals Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies. They can be found in Palom's Challenge Dungeon and in the Subterrane of the True Moon.

Final Fantasy XII[]

The Blue Fang deals Ice-elemental damage to all enemies in range. Its effect is doubled when Pheasant Netsuke is equipped, as is with all Fang-type items. Blue Fangs can be found in chests, stolen from Baritine Crocs or dropped by Lizards.

In the Zodiac versions, it is called Rime Fang.

A lightning bolt is another name for lightning strike. Lightning strikes are electrical discharges on a massive scale between the atmosphere and an earth-bound object.
