Description

Black Magic (黒魔法, Kuro Mahō?) is a skillset in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years that deals with offensive and elemental magic. Black Magic spells are almost identical to Black Magic in the predecessor. It can be used by Black Mage, Fusoya, Palom, Biggs, Golbez, Rydia, and Leonora.

Etymology[]

Black magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for evil and selfish purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, black magic is the malicious counterpart of benevolent white magic.

  • The magic circle effect on the Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection has Greek words inside the inner and outer circle areas of the magic circle. It also has three images of the principle elements: Fire, Ice, and Lightning.
