FFIII NES Black Mage

The Black Mage is a job class in Final Fantasy III. It is gained from the Wind Crystal. In the opening FMV of the DS remake, Arc is depicted as a Black Mage. Black mages excel in attacking enemies with offensive black magic. They wield a variety of spells and can attack multiple targets at once. They possess low attack power and defense. They can also wield bows and rods.

Like every other Final Fantasy, the black mage specializes in destructive magic, as well as status ailment spells. As a black mage, he can only learn lower level Black Magic, but later on, he can be converted to a Warlock or Magus in order to use the higher level spells.
