Barbariccia is a wind-elemental summon that appears in Final Fantasy Dimensions II. There are two versions of Barbariccia available in the game, one that teaches Rapid Thunder abilities to Wrieg, and another that teaches Charybdis abilities to the Deathlord. Wrieg's Barbariccia signet can only be obtained through doing a specific side quest and the Deathlord's version can only be obtained by purchasing her signet through the Mog Shop.
Profile[]
Both Barbariccia summons are based on her original design from Final Fantasy IV, however both versions of the summon have distinct differences in appearance. Wrieg's version of the summon is based on the original Yoshitaka Amano artwork of Barbariccia, even carrying the short sword depicted in the artwork. The Deathlord's version of Barbariccia depicts her in a more youthful appearance and has longer hair tied into a large ponytail.

Etymology[]
Barbariccia is a demon in the Inferno of Dante's Divine Comedy. He is one of the 12 Malebranche ("Evil Claws") who guard Bolgia Five of the eighth circle of Hell, Malebolge. Vulgar and quarrelsome, their duty is to force the corrupt politicians to stay under the surface of a boiling lake of pitch.
His name means "Curly Beard".
