Backdraft (バックドラフト, Bakkudorafuto?), also known as Back Draft, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is a Fire-elemental physical attack that can harm the user.

Backdraft is an enemy ability used by the Warrior and Berserker, which deals Fire-elemental physical damage to one target at the cost of expending HP.

Backdraft is an ability learned by the Fighter for 300 AP from the Flametongue. It deals Fire-elemental physical damage to one target next to the user with a base power of 60, at the downside of inflicting 1/4 of the damage dealt to the user.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the RiftEdit

Back Draft is an ability learned by the Fighter for 400 AP. It deals fire damage to the target and the user, this can be dealt with by equipping the user with armor that nullifies or absorbs Fire-elemental attacks.

A backdraft is a dramatic event caused by a fire, resulting from rapid re-introduction of oxygen to combustion in an oxygen-depleted environment; for example, the breaking of a window or opening of a door to an enclosed space.
