Cures Trouble.

Description

The Annoyntment is a status healing item in Final Fantasy IX used to remove Trouble, a status abnormality that makes the target's allies also take damage when they are attacked. It is a common treasure in Chocobo Hot and Cold. It can also be used in synthesis late into the game to make Amethysts.

Obtain[]

Annoyntments are sold in shops for 150 gil apiece from Cleyra onward. They are also a common find while playing Chocobo Hot and Cold; if the player partakes in this quest, they likely never need to buy any Annoyntments as Trouble is a rare status abnormality to contract.

ChocographLoc23

Fairy Island chocograph.

The player can find fifteen Annoyntments in the Fairy Island chocograph. After the player has Hilda Garde III, they can progress in Chocobo Hot and Cold until Choco can fly and reach Chocobo's Air Garden, where the chocograph can be dug up, pointing the treasure on the side of the mountain at the Vile Island. The player should take care getting the treasure as the toughest random encounters in the game, Yans, are the only enemies on this island.

Annoyntments can be stolen from Carrion Worm, Antlion, Feather Circle, Ogre, and Kraken (Crystal).

Annoyntments can drop from Nymph, Sand Golem, Core, Sand Scorpion, Antlion (boss), Abomination, and Kraken (Crystal).

Use[]

Annoyntment from FFIX Remastered

Annoyntments are used to remove Trouble status. This may be useful in the battles against the Carrion Worm, Feather Circle, Ogre, Antlion, and the crystal Kraken i.e. the enemies that also yield Annoyntments as spoils. The final boss's special attack may also give Trouble. After the party returns from the Outer Continent, they will not encounter enemies who will use Trouble anymore besides the optional Antlions when entering Desert Palace and the aforementioned final boss.

An Annoyntment can be used in synthesis with an Ore to produce an Amethyst.
