He won't stop asking me to marry him!

Aisha

Aisha is a non-player character in Final Fantasy VI. She is a citizen of Maranda under the Gestahlian Empire.

Profile[]

Aisha is a young woman with blonde hair with a green hairband and wears a white shirt and blue skirt. She uses the same generic sprite most woman NPCs do.

Story[]

Aisha is running in circles in Maranda being chased by an Imperial soldier who keeps asking her to marry him, while the trooper professes his love to her. However, after the attack on Vector and the Empire's peace talks with the Returners, the Imperials withdraw from Maranda and Aisha confesses she misses the trooper.

In the World of Ruin, she tells the party that Lola's been receiving letters from someone, wondering if its from her boyfriend in Mobliz.

Behind the scenes[]

Aisha is unnamed in the Japanese versions of Final Fantasy VI, and was named by the Super NES localization team. She retains her name in the Gameboy Advance version.

In the SNES script, Aisha's dialogue is phrased as the question "you wanna get hitched?" and the trooper's dialogue is to say no, implying she is the one who wants to marry him, though the trooper is still the one chasing her around. The player can "fix" this by speaking to the trooper and waiting for Aisha to loop around behind him, thus she will now appear to be chasing him. The GBA script corrects both their dialogue.

Etymology[]

Aisha is a variant of "A'isha". A'isha is an Arabic female given name which means "She who lives" or "womanly".
