The Air Elemental, also known as the AIR or Aeros, is an enemy from the original Final Fantasy. It appears on the Flying Fortress.

BattleEdit

Due to its incorporeal form, it is resistant to most status afflictions and all ground-based magic, such as Quake. To compensate, this monster has relatively few HP and only moderate damage output.

EtymologyEdit

An elemental is a mythic being described in occult and alchemical works from around the time of the European Renaissance and particularly elaborated in the 16th century works of Paracelsus.

Aero is a Greek prefix relating to air and flight. Common usages in modern times include the words "aeroplane" and "aerospace."
