A long-range throwing weapon that returns to its wielder, the shuriken's design resembles a cross, possessing four extended points that are fused together at the center. Capable of Materia allocation, the weapon possesses slots for such baubles along its central length below the sharp points. Iconic to Yuffie, the large shuriken has appeared as her weapon in several games and movies in the series.
Following her joining the party the 4-Point Shuriken serves as her initial first level weapon, to be replaced by higher level weapons bought in shops throughout the game's progression.
Thanks to the increase in graphic quality the shuriken has added detail along its length, including additional bands where Yuffie can grip the weapon.
While Vincent Valentine sports a new gun arsenal in Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-, Yuffie still wields her iconic shuriken; helping out Vincent in his various battles against the armies of Deepground.
Since the 4-Point Shuriken is Yuffie's icon weapon, the non-specific appearance of the shuriken may be directly related with the appearance of Yuffie in other games, like Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Portable; although there have been exceptions.
Non-Final Fantasy AppearancesEdit
Yuffie is a secret playable character in the game Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring. She primarily fights with punches and kicks, but can also perform several slash attacks with the 4-Point Shuriken and throw many smaller shuriken for ranged attacks.
Kingdom Hearts SeriesEdit
While not seen in Kingdom Hearts, the 4-Point Shuriken returns to Yuffie's hand in Kingdom Hearts II where she battles against the Heartless and Nobodies as part of the united Final Fantasy cast defending Hollow Bastion.
- Yuffie's Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Play Arts Action Figures both come with a 4-Point Shuriken.
